Years of work and waiting. And now, the test.
It’s been a long road: the paperwork, the forms, the waiting, sometimes for years. Whether you’re already in Canada or still getting ready to come, the test is your next step, and you want to walk in ready. NestLibre helps you prepare, so that on the day, the format feels familiar.
Know where you stand. Then see the way.
- 1
Take a free practice test. Twenty questions, in the same format as the citizenship test, written from the official study guide.
- 2
See where you stand. Your answers point out your strong topics and the ones worth another look.
- 3
Work on what’s left. Review the topics that need it. Preparing for CELPIP or TCF Canada too? Practise speaking, and get feedback on every answer.
- 4
Walk in ready. When the day comes, you’ll already know the test’s format.
Feedback on every answer you speak
It isn’t easy to judge your own speaking. Record your answer, and NestLibre gives you feedback on what worked and what to improve, with an estimated level for your practice answer, based on the published scoring criteria.
Practise in English for CELPIP, or in French for TCF Canada.
Writing practice with feedback joins later, at no extra cost.
Levels here are estimates based on your practice answers. They aren’t official results.
For the long stretch before the day
Waiting is hard, and it’s easy to lose your bearings. Practise a little, see your progress grow, and keep going at your own pace, as often as you need, until you’re ready.
What’s free, and what we charge for
Discover Canada, the study guide from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), is free, and so are its study questions. We link to them, and we’ll never charge for them. Our citizenship practice tests are free too. We charge only for CELPIP and TCF Canada speaking practice with feedback, and your first three answers are free. Writing practice joins later, at no extra cost.
Independent of the government and the test owners
NestLibre isn’t part of the Government of Canada or IRCC. It isn’t connected with the organizations that run CELPIP and TCF Canada either. We help you practise for tests. We don’t give immigration advice, so for questions about your application, go to IRCC or a licensed immigration lawyer or consultant.
Questions
Is the citizenship practice really free?
Yes. There’s no sign-up, no card, and no trial that turns into a charge. Take it as many times as you like.
Are these the real test questions?
No. The official test questions aren’t public, and we don’t have them. Our practice questions are written from Discover Canada, the guide the test’s questions come from.
What if I don’t pass the first time?
It happens, and it isn’t the end of the road. You can take the test again, up to three attempts in total. After a third unsuccessful attempt, IRCC invites you to a hearing with a citizenship official. IRCC’s page on results and next steps has the details: Citizenship test: Test results and next steps.
Will my level here match my CELPIP or TCF Canada result?
Your level here is an estimate based on your practice answers and each test’s published scoring criteria. It helps you see what to work on, and it doesn’t predict your official result.
Is this immigration advice?
No. NestLibre is test practice. For anything about your application, which program fits you, or how to fill in a form, go to IRCC or a licensed immigration lawyer or consultant.
